Aquagenx, LLC is a leading manufacturer and distributor of water quality field test kits that are used throughout the world by NGOs, humanitarian aid organizations, governments, research institutes, universities, and private companies and citizens.

We are in the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector. We are a small, virtual, effective, efficient and personable team. Our company is known in the sector as being highly responsive and helpful with customers.

Our test kits detect and quantify potentially harmful bacteria such as E. coli in drinking water and help save lives around the globe, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Aquagenx’s groundbreaking microbiological water quality tests are simple to use and are designed for on-site testing outside of labs in low resource, rural, remote, and disaster/emergency areas. They enable water quality testing where it was previously impossible, impractical or too expensive.

Position Description

The Inside Sales and Logistics Associate assists customers with first-line questions about our products, quotes and shipping estimates, and order placement. This individual executes internal sales processes so our warehouse can fulfill orders.

This position is a good fit for people with some sales experience who enjoy sales and interacting with international customers, and who want part-time work or supplemental income.

Because our customers are located throughout the world in every time zone, and are sometimes dealing with urgent situations, it is imperative the sales and logistics associate delivers timely, responsive replies to inquiries and requests.

Knowledge of the WASH sector and water microbiology are not required, but candidates should be self-starters who are interested in this sector and eager to learn. Thorough training, job documentation and a knowledge base for customer support questions will be provided.

Inside Sales & Logistics Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for all sales-related activity, including:

  • Respond to all sales related emails and calls in a timely manner (preliminary technical product questions, customer’s requirements, pricing requests, product availability)
  • Create and distribute quotes including international shipping estimates in a timely manner. Follow up with customers on quotes.
  • Create Sales Orders and confirm details with customers
  • Create and distribute Invoices upon approval of Sales Orders
  • Initiate customer shipments with our order fulfillment warehouse
  • Liaison with order fulfillment warehouse and Aquagenx operations staff (inventory status, order fulfillment status)
  • Respond to order related questions/issues in a timely manner (information needed to process orders, payment terms, order related shipping status and issues)
  • Prospecting and sales outreach
  • Occasional creation of international FedEx and DHL shipping labels and commercial invoices
  • Maintain CRM and customer accounts. Aquagenx uses Zoho CRM and Books.
  • Route detailed pre-and post-sale technical support requirements to Aquagenx Technical Support

Work Hours:

Remote position. Preference for residence in Research Triangle area of North Carolina USA. Time per week varies but generally 12-20 hours per week. Schedule is flexible, but timely, attentive responsiveness with international customers is required. Compensation commensurate with experience.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Sales experience and motivation for sales and prospecting
  • Detail oriented, high organizational skills, excellent communication skills
  • Enjoys speaking with customers, sociable and personable with excellent manners
  • Interest or previous experience in the WASH sector, ability to learn about water quality testing and our products to represent them well to customers
  • Familiarity with CRM and accounting systems
